Behind The Scene - Holiday Macrame Time !

So, the not-so-long holiday was well spent on making a few macrame product, I even made a few more for my sister and my boy friend :) I was preparing something amazingly tiny macrame bag which was done during the new year's eve and the macrame snowflakes was a bonus out of curiousity on the Christmas Eve. Did I mention about me, loving to make everything tiny and single (should I say it, alone).

The colour used were yellow and red (well because the available one was yellow, black and red). I chose these as a Chinese New Year themed mini product which I prepared for the collaboration exhibition (and not really). 1st January 2015

The colour used for the snowflakes were blue and white to at least say its the colour of coldness, am I right ? It's snowy during Christmas, so why not. 25th December 2014

I actually made a few of a smaller and gothic version of the macrame snowflakes which I made for my sis and my boyfriend too (let's see if I have the documentation :P)

Caterpillar Puzzle Stool - Product Design 1

After trying to turn line into sheet, we're trying to change a 2D form (sheet) into a 3D form (has volume). It was a challenge to make a stool out of cardboard which is strong enough to hold up to 120kg of weight.
Scale of 1:5 Model - Puzzle

Puzzle Concept
Anyway I did my best after the break up, and here's the (I don't think) brilliant concept of mine about the puzzle continuation between one and another stool. What do you think ?

Final Mock-Up (styling)

After completing the product, its' now ready to be tested on user based on their weight (challenge : the heavier it can holds on, the stronger it is)

W:54kg, H:178cm
W:55kg , H:169cm
W:62kg, H:152cm
W:117kg, H:176cm
After testing on users, I've analyzes the ergonomic of the product, if it is comfortable enough to sit on this stool while working in the studio. According from a few users I've interviewed, there were a few comments about the structure in contact with user was to fragile, should have add more "cushion" to make it more comfortable. The height is perfect to form 90' angle for the knee to rest on the floor according to users. The width is using the anthropometry p95, which is more recommended for user until 120kg.

Clay Artwork / Karya Tanah Liat (dibimbing oleh Bu Koniherawati Santoso) - Teknologi Bahan

This course was the most amazingly creative part of this semester (3) for sure. It allows us to pour our creativity in a form of something realistic more 3-dimension - clay. We learned a few techniques of making the clay artwork; pinching, coiling, and slab.

All these artworks were individual assignment, and the whole idea was pure mine :3 Thank you for the chance to pour what's on my mind onto something more realistic :)
In addition of some free-styled artwork which were from leftover clay, therefore it's tiny in shapes :3 don't mind, as long as it's cute !

"Makara" The Mythology Creature Polyhedron - Nirmana 2

My Baby Makara and Me
Makara is a combination of creatures from land and water, usually combinations of crocodile, elephant, fish and peacock, either way is okay, its a myth. Their imaginary realistic view can be seen in any door way of temple (candi).

Final Product (view from left)
Final Product (view from right)
Cute isn't he? I took a combination of elephant, crocodile, and peacock. I put an addition of that square diapers (?) which symbolize the good and the bad, just like Yin-Yang, and the spears as it is usually placed as a guard in any door way of each temple.
Actually this was a correction from my former tiny makara, it existed because a helpful hand of a friend, we made it in Incubator, well he helped me a lot, even when he's only accompanying me, most of the time I felt lucky :) Thank You ~ (12th June 2014)

Makara was shown on Faculty of Architecture and Design 30th / 10th Anniversary Exhibition in Agape, UKDW
